After the Bell: Furniture in Schools – The Possibilities of a Circular Economy

Furniture in schools should be durable, compliant and ‘fit for purpose’, but is sustainability or ethical sourcing considered in the decision-making process?

The Australian Furniture Association (AFA) researched and developed implementation strategies to meet impending 2030 Climate Change Goals as determined by Australian Governments – and the school community can play a key role.

‘The ethical purchase of sustainable furniture will support the diversion of furniture products from landfill whilst bolstering local manufacturing and protecting the community’ says AFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Patrizia Torelli.
