Afterglow is a celebration of the brilliance, hustle, and broad skill within the sex work industry. We’ve built the space we always wanted: a night that’s part-showcase, part-knowledge-share, and 100% unapologetic.
The Stage
We welcome a broad diversity of workers and give them total creative freedom. The result? A hurricane of performances, comedy, and talks. Whether it’s a provocative strip set or a deep dive into business strategy, the only rule is that every person on stage provides a tangible takeaway - a gift of advice, a skill, or a perspective for the audience to carry home.
The Vibe
• Strictly Pro-Worker: A safe, inclusive space for sex workers and our active allies.
• Radical Inclusion: Fully wheelchair accessible (stair-free) and Auslan translated.
• Zero-Profit: We don’t do corporate fluff. Every dollar goes toward paying our performers and keeping attendance accessible for the community.
The Ticket Model
We believe in community care.
• Worker Tickets: Subsidised to keep the event accessible.
• Allied Tickets: For non-workers/businesses. Our Allied tickets operate on a Pay it Forward model. This higher tier directly funds our community access program, allowing us to pass on tickets to workers who need them and keep the room accessible for everyone.
Expect passion, chaos, and a room full of people who actually get it.

Any verified sex worker can attend Afterglow.
Additionally, we open limited tickets to verified industry folk like trusted allies + adult industry businesses.
NEW FOR 2026: Any verified worker can now bring a family member, friend, partner or other loved one with a guest ticket.All attendees MUST BE 18+

Afterglow is the first lovechild of Thorne and Heart - a community focused initiative run by Nova Hawthorne and Harper Valentine.
- By workers, for workers; OUR STORY
Two friends – both career sex workers and passionate community advocates – chatting over dinner, swapping stories. Somewhere between snort laughing and a dairy-free frozen yoghurt, we found ourselves discussing our struggles and wins trying to break down the doors in the business world.
“How is it that we can all be marketing gurus, copywriters, choreographers, accounting, admin, therapists.. and SO much more at a professional level, and it’s still this hard to be recognised in professional spaces?”
And just like that, the seed for Afterglow was planted.We thought of the friends and community we’ve shared space with over our years in the industry, and the struggles they’ve shared. Creating this event didn’t feel optional anymore.
So, we did as our community has always done—we got to work creating the space we deserve both for ourselves, and for you.Think provocative performances, talks that are as entertaining as they are useful, and a vibe that’s warm, inclusive, and full of life.
We believe that access is a major make or break when it comes to comfort and success. For that reason; we have chosen to run this event without profit on the agenda.
All ticket sales and sponsorships go to lowering ticket prices and paying the sex workers performing, hosting and speaking for their expertise and time. Any non-sex worker with stage time at the event has kindly donated their time in the pursuit of active allyship. Any sponsors, allied businesses or organisations do not get paid to support Afterglow.
