This event has passed Get Tickets

Event description

Brand new in 2024 our WRITE & ILLUSTRATE program is for students with an interest in Graphic Novels, Anime, Manga, Comics, Drawing  and Creative writing

The first two terms of the year follow a theme and students work towards a mid year art show - and the second half of the year has a different theme and students work towards an end of year project.

Our theme for the first half of the year is I AM AN ARTIST - all about celebrating each student's unique style and building confidence and self esteem through creativity.

On the 22nd June students will host their very own BOOK LAUNCH style exhibition to show off their work!

In term one students will be focusing on:

Comic strip style - students will learn about writing & illustrating a comic strip style short story with an impactful beginning, dramatic middle and satisfying ending. Students will develop creative writing skills and get to draw images in their own personal style

Zine style - Students will learn about creating mini story books with illustrations - the focus may be on the written story or the  graphic illustrations.

Person choice project - Students will then begin work on an illustrated story in their preferred style. Lots of freedom to explore their own passion subjects and creative interests with support and guidance from educators and a chance to make new friends.

This class is a mixed age creative group and we hope that it will be an opportunity to bring together young people with similar interests

In term one this class will be taught by Claire & Emmie

Suitable for:

Children with an interest in art and creative writing

Children in year 4 - 8
