Event description

The Ageing Symposium aims to highlight the opportunities and barriers to innovation and inclusivity, for seniors/older adults to live well and thrive into the next decade.

The broad themes for the symposium:

          • The future of ageing
          • At home, in place and in community
          • Safe, active and inclusive communities

Raising awareness of the importance of Healthy Ageing and Ageing Well in Community, and highlighting the impact of Ageism in our society is important to both the Minister for Seniors, The Hon Jodie Harrison MP, and the Ministerial Advisory Council on Ageing.

The symposium will focus on future scenarios and innovative ideas and programs, to address the current challenges of our ageing population. The day will also explore innovative strategies, share best practices, and foster collaboration in bridging the gap between older adults and the sectors of government, services, policy makers, the media as well as the community.
