Join Kylea Tink MP and her Ageing Well community advisory for an important seminar on scams and financial security.
Australians are losing hundreds of millions of dollars to scammers every year, with older Australians reporting the greatest losses.
Last year, the ACCC reported that a total of $3.1 billion had been lost to scams in the previous 12 months. Over-65s accounted for about a fifth of the total losses, impacting their financial security, emotional and mental wellbeing.
Our Scams & Financial Security seminar aims to help seniors in our community learn to identify scams and know what to do if targeted. We'll also outline some publicly available services that can help with financial counselling.
A light morning tea will be provided.
This free community seminar is hosted by Kylea Tink, Independent Federal Member for North Sydney, in collaboration with Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney and ScamWatch. It is the first of a series of seminars on topics relevant to ageing well.
