Are you aged 65 or over? Would you like to feel more confident about navigating aged care, understanding costs and protecting yourself from abuse and scams?
Join us at Enfield Community Centre for Aging with Confidence, a free three-week information series facilitated by Aged Rights Advocacy Service (ARAS).
These friendly and informative sessions are designed to give older people practical information, greater confidence and a better understanding of their rights and choices.
Whether you are currently receiving aged care, considering your options, supporting a family member, or simply want to know more, you are welcome to attend. 💜
📅 Week 1 – Monday 12 October
Know Your Rights in Aged Care ⚖️
1.00pm–2.30pm
Learn about your rights in aged care and how advocacy can help you speak up and have your voice heard.
Topics include:
The role of ARAS
What advocacy means and how it can help
The Statement of Aged Care Rights
How ARAS can assist you to uphold your rights
How to raise a concern
📅 Week 2 – Monday 19 October
Understanding Aged Care Costs & Financial Advocacy 💰
1.00pm–2.30pm
Aged care costs and fees can be confusing. This session will provide practical information to help you understand your options and make informed decisions.
Topics include:
Your aged care rights and advocacy
Understanding your care plan
How to raise a concern
An overview of aged care fees and charges
Where to find information about what you may expect to pay
Your choices and rights regarding aged care fees
📅 Week 3 – Monday 26 October
Elder Abuse & Scams 🛡️
1.00pm–2.30pm
Learn how to recognise different types of elder abuse and scams, how they can affect older people, and where to seek information and support.
Topics include:
What is elder abuse?
Different types of abuse
Types of scams that can affect older people
How to raise a concern
Information to help you stay safe and informed
☕ A welcoming community experience
Each session includes 30 minutes of morning tea, providing an opportunity to enjoy a cuppa, meet others and have a chat in a relaxed community setting.
