Agriculture & Emissions Reduction
Event description
The recent release of Australia's 2035 emissions reduction target, together with the climate risk assessment report and the mitigation and implementation plans, have ramped up the pressure for increased action.
Agriculture is a big part of Gippsland's economy and our way of life. It is also responsible for a big part of Australia's emissions - 18.1% according to the latest figures.
Pressure will be mounting for it to ramp up its emission reduction efforts, especially as its progress to date has been modest and the challenges of increased reduction will impact all of us.
Tonight, we will explore the state of emissions reduction in agriculture and explore some of the big issues facing the industry's path to net zero and how they will impact all of us.
Join us at 7.30pm on Monday 6th October at the Bond Street Event Centre. Registration is required.
We will be holding our Annual General Meeting first but this will only take 10 minutes or so.
Note: In the interests of free and open discussion, paying for your ticket is your choice but we do welcome payments if you can; this will help cover the cost of the venue and support our campaigns for stronger climate action.
