Agritourism: Legislation and case studies
Event description
Agritourism is reshaping farming across Australia — but what does it mean for you? This practical workshop will unpack both the opportunities and challenges, giving you the tools to make informed decisions for your farm.
You’ll hear from Denise Galle, Tweed Shire Council’s Director of Planning and Regulation, who will explain the latest legislation and share real case studies that show when and how agritourism can work in practice.
Eli Szandala, Council’s Program Leader for Sustainable Agriculture, will explore the value of farmland in the Tweed and why protecting it is critical for our future.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a clear understanding of agritourism provisions, practical pathways for growth and how to balance new opportunities with the need to safeguard the region’s food bowl for generations to come.
