This course has been approved for the following: 4 NRCS Planner Certification Contact Hours, 4 DCR Certified Conservation Planner Contact Hours and 5 SAF Continuing Forestry Education Credits

Forest farming is the practice of cultivating medicinal, edible, decorative, and handicraft crops under a forest canopy, which provides shade levels and habitats that favor growth and enhance production.

The increasing interest in agroforestry among land managers has produced a growing need for technical assistance. Join us and learn about the principles, design considerations, benefits, and potential challenges associated with forest farming.

Please note, these trainings have been scheduled to coincide with regularly scheduled JED training dates, but are open to all natural resource professionals and agricultural educators. An online introductory course will be available in the spring to watch in preparation for the training.
