Session 1: Industry panel

Al Rayner – Using Satellite Data to Support for Feed Budgets & Grazing Decisions:

Since November 2022, all Australian red meat producers have had free access to data driven by satellite information & machine learning to
support their grazing management & feed budgeting decisions. The Australian Feedbase Monitor (AFM) is a jointly funded project between
Cibo Labs & MLA.
The AFM platform has been developed to offer every red meat producer data on their current levels of total standing dry matter and ground
cover, on a 1Ha resolution for all area within their farm boundaries. This data can be used to support decisions and grazing strategies; analyse
seasonal trends and build more robust forage budgets.
As part of the Harden Landcare AgTech program, Cibo Labs General Manager for Extension & Operations, Alastair Rayner will present a
session on creating an AFM account and the key applications to benefit red meat producers.

Jock Graham – Wi-sky:

Wi-Sky is an innovative, local internet service provider building our own local networks and delivering fast internet to farmers and people in
regional areas who are unable to access other options. Specialising in custom rural network solutions including broadband connectivity;
installation of cross farm connectivity; agricultural monitoring equipment eg cameras, sensors, livestock tags; wifi to vehicle boosters; private
networks for home and business; and external wifi coverage.

Session 2: Data – Policy/rights/value

Ashley Cooper is the Policy Director – Agricultural Industries, at NSW Farmers:

In this role, he is responsible for supporting the Association’s commodity committees to advance members’ policy priorities and objectives
across a range of issues including ag technology in various forms.
Before joining NSW Farmers, Ashley was an adviser to a senior Cabinet Minister. His responsibilities included the Regional Communications
portfolio as well as Emergency Management, National Recovery and Resilience, Regional Education, non-portfolio matters and Senate advisor.
Prior to working in Parliament, Ashley was General Manager of WoolProducers Australia and he has also worked for GrainGrowers Limited and
AgForce Queensland.

Gabi Ceregra – Data Policy Manager – Federation University Australia:

Gabi Ceregra is the Data Policy Manager at the National Farmers’ Federation and Food Agility CRC. Specialising in data governance, Gabi
brings a wealth of experience in managing data across health, financial services, and agriculture.
With a track record of successfully delivering small and large-scale data projects, Gabi has led operational data governance teams and developed
policies and standards dictating how data is handled within projects and organisations.
Gabi's recent work in agriculture data governance includes the Australian Farm Data Code and certification, the formulation of best practice
Data Sharing Agreements, and the establishment of Australian Agricultural Traceability data standards.
