Event description

AI & Society Roundtable — Melbourne [Pilot, 20 seats]

A practical, candid roundtable for cross‑industry peers to make sense of AI’s real impacts on work, teams, and communities. Expect facilitated conversation, clear prompts, and leave with some greater insights on the AI conversation.

This is a pilot session, as I test this model for hopefully a much more developed and detailed session later on!

  • When: 5:30 pm for 6pm start to 8:00 pm

  • Where: Inspire9 Richmond

  • Format: One room, facilitated roundtable, capped at 20

  • Who it’s for: Leaders, operators, and practitioners across sectors who want a grounded, human‑centred AI discussion

This session is about creating a conversation to explore societal impacts of AI, exchange diverse perspectives, and identify opportunities for collective action.

What you’ll do

  • Introduce ourselves to everyone in the room.

  • Go deep on 2–3 topics:

    • Opportunities & Risks

      • What is the biggest opportunity AI presents in your sector?

      • What is the most pressing risk or challenge?

    • GenAI vs Agentic AI

      • Generative AI creates content, while Agentic AI can act and make decisions. How do you see the benefits — and risks — of each?

    • Human Critical Thinking

      • How do we maintain and strengthen human critical thinking in an AI-driven world?

      • What practices can help us ensure we’re developing our own consciousness and not outsourcing too much to AI?

  • Synthesize insights and commit to one small, meaningful action.

The purpose of this event is to share knowledge and perspectives, build capacity, and make connections.

Chatham House Rule. Light refreshments included.

Pilot event. Limited to 20 seats.
