Event description

Microdoses LP with brown recycled vinyl

Naarm/Melbourne-based musicians Ai Yamamoto and Dan West return to Brunswick Music Festival with a mesmerising launch of their debut vinyl LP, Microdoses. Taking over The Quadraphonic Club, this immersive audiovisual performance promises to transport audiences on a rare live journey through ambient soundscapes, glitchy microbeats, and abstracted breaks - all enhanced by stunning video projections created by Ai Yamamoto.

Inspired by the natural world right outside their doorstep, Ai and Dan weave a sonic and visual tapestry that fuses synthesis, field recordings, live instruments, beat machines, and entrancing visuals. Together, they craft intricate soundscapes and imagery that are as meditative as they are electrifying.

Since their collaboration began in 2021 with a sold-out show at the Melbourne Recital Centre, the duo has supported legendary Japanese composer Eiko Ishibashi, created new works for the Darebin FUSE Festival, and sold out their 2023 Brunswick Music Festival show at Little Cardigan Japanese Bakery.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience Ai and Dan’s immersive artistry live. Opening the night will be the captivating sounds of Solar Cells & the New Vision System, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.
