Artificial intelligence (AI) has jumped massively in both capability and popularity in recent years. What was once just a parlour trick is now starting to show real promise. This talk will explore the AI's impact on the world and several cyber security considerations including the assurance activities you should consider when deploying projects that integrate AI components. The following topics will be covered:
Pitfalls and shortcomings of using AI models
Security assurance activities you should consider when deploying AI systems, or integrations
The implications of AI's use for New Zealand business and government entities

About the Presenter:

Simon Howard is a founding member and CTO of Bastion Security  He has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, starting life as a C programmer and then moving into security engineering, architecture, penetration testing and strategy. Simon also co-founded and assists with the running of Australasia's largest hacker conference, Kawaiicon (previously known as Kiwicon)
