PRESENTATION
In the defence and aerospace sectors, the fitness of pilots and astronauts before and after flight is critical. An AI-driven system accelerates recovery through real-time feedback on prescribed exercises. Our talk introduces a compatible method for resource-constrained devices precisely assessing activities, poised to transform aerospace fitness management.
ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Dr Bahareh Nakisa is a senior lecturer in applied AI and course director of AI at Deakin University. Her main research background is in artificial intelligence, machine learning, human-centred AI, and human-computer interaction. She is particularly interested in the application of AI/ML/DM models to solve real-world problems in applications such as defence, space and healthcare. She has published more than 40 publications in top-tier international venues in AI. She has secured more than $2.4M external funding in external research find supported by the US Defense, Australian Government, CSIRO and industry partners. Sara Sardari is currently a dual (cotutelle) degree PhD candidate at Deakin University (Australia) and Coventry University (United Kingdom). Her research focuses on applied AI, and signal analysis for solving healthcare related real-world challenges. She specialises in motion capture sensors and pose estimation algorithms, with a particular expertise in activity assessment.
