Hands-on Architecture for Kids
Event description
Bring the family and spark your child’s creativity at this fun, interactive event designed for kids 12 and under! Led by local architect volunteers, this hands-on experience introduces children to the world of architecture through storytelling, drawing, building, and coloring.
Kids will explore architecture through a book reading and activity from Architecture by the Book, a program that highlights diverse architects and their work. They’ll also try their hand at sketching a building, learning basic design elements with guidance from real architects. And at our coloring station, children can bring local architecture to life using pages from AIACV’s third volume of the Architecture Coloring Book, featuring regional projects and architects.
All materials are provided, and a light snack and water will be available. Activities are ideal for children up to middle-school age, accompanied by a parent or guardian. Come build, draw, and imagine with us!
