Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon: Connecting the Dots in Healthcare Design
Event description
2 LU
Inspired by the 1990's parlor game, "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" - which is based on the concept of six degrees of separation in which every two people are connected by six or fewer acquaintances - this event will explore six architects connection between one another. In the process attendees will learn the path each presenter took to becoming an architect, where they currently work and why, what role they are within their organization, what their typical day looks like, and what their degree of separation is with our final presenter, the California Office of Statewide Hospital Planning and Development (OSHPD) Deputy Division Chief, Richard Tannahill.
Presenters will represent architects who took a traditional, and not so traditional, path to architecture, as well as architects who work at small, medium, and large firms, and for the California's building department for hospital, skilled nursing, and inpatient behavioral health projects. What does a technical architect's average day look like? How about the average day of a healthcare design architect? Or the average day of those who write the building code for California healthcare projects? You will learn this, and much more in this interactive and entertaining event.
