Join us for a talk on the AIATSIS Code of ethics for Indigenous research given by Associate Professor Mandy Downing from Curtin University.

Time: Tuesday 3rd December, 10am-11.30am

Location: Room 3.02, Marie Reay Teaching Centre, 155 University Ave, Australian National University

About the speaker

Associate Professor Mandy Downing is a Ngarluma Yindjibarndi woman who descends from the Lockyer family of the Pilbara region in Western Australia. However, she is located and was raised on Wadjuk Noongar Boodjar.

Mandy is the Dean, Indigenous Futures at Curtin University and is responsible for ensuring Australia’s Indigenous futures across the nation’s culture and economy are supported and considered in the learning, research and partnership activities of the Faculty of Humanities.

She is also the Senior Indigenous Facilitator for the National Environmental Science Program Sustainable Communities and Waste Research Hub and is the Co-Chair of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies National Research Ethics Committee.
