Megan Lane, Director of Communications and Government Affairs, CyberCX.

Megan Lane is the Director of Communications and Government Affairs at Australia’s largest and leading cybersecurity firm, CyberCX.

Megan regularly briefs boards and senior management on complex communications and stakeholder engagement ahead of, during, and after cyber incidents.

Previously, she advised the then-Shadow Treasurer Jim Chalmers as his press secretary through the pandemic and recession. Before that she worked as a strategic and communications advisor across the federal Australian political landscape, and in Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania, and the Australia Capital Territory.

Megan holds a Bachelor of Asia Pacific Security from the Australian National University.

Colin McKenna, Assistant Secretary – AUKUS Initiatives, Department of Defence.  

Colin is the Assistant Secretary, AUKUS Initiatives in the Australian Department of Defence. In this role, Colin is responsible for coordinating Australia’s contribution to AUKUS Advanced Capabilities (Pillar II).

Colin was previously in Strategic Policy Division leading a team to develop and provide policy advice on strategic capabilities and technology, space policy, counter terrorism and civil maritime security.

Colin spent several years at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet as a Senior Policy Adviser on a number of national security related matters, including crisis management, critical infrastructure protection and law enforcement.

Colin has wide-ranging national security experience, having previously worked in the Attorney-General’s Department and the then Australian Customs and Border Protection Service since 2002.

Colin holds a Master of Business Administration from Charles Sturt University.
