AIDN QLD DEFENCE INDUSTRY MICRO-CREDENTIALING PROGRAM 

 

About the Program:
This 4-hour practitioner-level program will take participants through the end-to-end innovation cycle, from identifying military problems, applying creative problem-solving methods, and aligning with Defence priorities, to accessing funding, navigating AUKUS pathways, and commercialising ideas for the market. Interactive activities guide attendees through real-world scenarios, ensuring skills can be applied directly back into business and project contexts.

Course: Accelerate and Commercialise Defence Innovation

  • Session 1: Identifying a Relevant Defence/Military Problem - Understand the ADF Strategic Framework, innovation challenges, and context.

  • Session 2: Defining the Problem - Problem-centred design, reverse brainstorming, 3 primary lenses and more.

  • Session 3: Accelerating Your Innovation - Design thinking, divergent approaches, brainstorming, triaging.

  • Session 4: Take Your Invention to Market - Funding, commercial potential, delivery models.

 Assessment

  • Digitally Administered Theory Exam

  • Attendee Feedback Survey

Key Outcomes:

  • Understand Defence strategic frameworks and innovation priorities.

  • Learn problem-centred design to identify and define a military problem. 

  • Use structured tools to generate, triage, and refine innovative ideas.

  • Quantify commercial potential and explore funding models.

  • Please bring a Laptop or Tablet to participate in the course activities 

  • Morning and Afternoon Tea will be provided 

  • Lunch is at your own expense 

  • Street parking is limited, so car-pooling or public transport options are recommended
