AIJF Presents: Kristin Berardi & Sam Anning
Event description
Co-presented by Hal's Hall & Elder Con Jazz, this exclusive Adelaide performance is one night only with strictly limited capacity.
Switzerland-based Kristin Berardi's star continues to rise internationally. Originally from Queensland, she is one of Australia's most outstanding jazz vocalists, claiming 3 Bell Awards for Best Jazz Vocal album, the National Jazz Award for Voice, an ARIA nomination, a Churchill Fellowship; and she is the only vocalist to have won the National Freedman Fellowship for jazz.
After winning the Montreux Jazz Festival’s International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2006, she went on to support Al Jarreau and George Benson at Montreux Jazz Festival in 2007. She was invited to perform at the Closing Ceremony of The Commonwealth Games in 2018.
Kristin has also performed with Ambrose Akinmusire, Kenny Werner, Ingrid Jensen, Dan Tepfer, Jerome Jennings, Dan Weiss and many more.
However it really is in hearing her live that you gain a sense of why she is one of Australia's best jazz vocal exports.
"Berardi’s voice [is] one that could simultaneously melt glass and mend broken hearts."
For this exclusive Adelaide concert, Kristin rejoins long-time collaborator – award-winning bassist Sam Anning for an intimate exploration of Kristin and Sam’s music.
