Event description

Want to connect with people and places through art? Join street artist Eddie Mo and other locals to workshop our latest street art mural. No experience needed - just interest and enthusiasm!

The Aikman Drive Underpass is a blank canvas and it will be transformed into awesome public art to bring joy to people who use it.  

Register for this unique opportunity. Limited spots. 

FREE Workshop #1: Monday 3 November, 3pm-5pm.

  • Where: The Coffee Ground cafe located at Shop 10, Cooper Lodge, Telita St, University of Canberra - Bruce campus.

  • Practise your sketching and prepare your part of the mural! All materials are provided.

FREE Workshop #2: Tuesday 4 November, 3pm-5pm.

  • Where: Behind Building 25, University of Canberra - Bruce campus

  • Hone your spraypainting skills and practise what you'll be painting on the underpass! (Water-based spraypaint only used.

  • Masks and all equipment is provided. We are using spray paints so please wear clothes (including shoes) that you are happy to get paint on. Please note there is a small risk of allergic reaction to the fumes.

Paint the Mural (for workshop participants only): Saturday 8 November, two sessions (choose 1 session only): 10am-12pm or 1pm-3pm

  • Where: Aikman Drive Underpass

  • Work alongside Eddie Mo and bring that Underpass to life!

  • Masks and all equipment is provided. We are using spray paints so please wear clothes (including shoes) that you are happy to get paint on. Please note there is a small risk of allergic reaction to the fumes.

Open to people who live, work or study in Bruce or Belconnen who are aged 18-30s. 

Please note your photo may be used for social media and promotional materials if you participate. If you prefer not to be photographed, please let us know. 

The Aikman Drive Mural project is part of Connect Up 2617, a research initiative run by University of Canberra's Health Research Institute (HRI) to strengthen social connection.
