Event description
Australasian Integrative Medicine Association (AIMA) is excited to bring you this special Christmas Musical Event.
A Celebration of Music - Its Power to Heal
Date: Thursday 10th December
Time: 7:00-9:00pm
Venue: St Columba Centre, 40 Vermont Street, Ponsonby, Auckland
Price: $30 or $15 for students. Wine and light snacks provided.
Join our talented resident AIMA musicians Sonia Wilson and Nigel Gavin who, together with Dr. Robin Kelly, explore the healing power of music. From the modern science showing profound beneficial effects on our brains and bodies, to the perennial wisdom of our world’s cultural and mystical traditions.
Sonia is a well-loved Auckland singer, instrumentalist, singing and ukulele teacher. She has undergone sound healing training, integrating these skills into both her teaching and her daily life. From a French and North American family, Sonia celebrated 2020 by becoming a permanent New Zealand resident!
Nigel is a guitar and glissentar virtuoso with a world-wide reputation. He is equally adept and passionate about a wide range of music – from jazz, blues, classical, folk and rock to world music in all its forms and expressions.
Robin is a singer-songwriter who alongside Sonia and Nigel performed his musical ‘In The Footsteps of the Forgotten’ at this year’s Auckland Fringe Festival.
Following a dynamic three-way discussion and Q&A (with musical highlights), they will let the music speak for itself, with a program designed to lift your hearts and souls at the end of such a trying year. So bring along your voices and your dancing shoes!
