Airplane Mode - No Phone Zone. A digital detox social with Tracks Magzine & collage artist Rachael Edward
Event description
AIRPLANE MODE – NO PHONE ZONE
A digital detox with Tracks Magazine and collage artist Rachael Edwards.
Basically, we’re going to confiscate your phone for 3–4 hours and force some real conversation over a background of musical selections from the Tracks Magazine crew.
We’ll have a selection of reading materials, sketchbooks, games, puzzles, and all that other stuff we used to enjoy before iPhones and Netflix were invented.
This month, our friend and colleague Rachael Edwards will be hosting Collage Corner, giving you the opportunity to create your own hand-cut collage art using imagery sourced from second-hand books. The Tracks Magazine Writers’ Bench will also be on hand, sharing sketches, photos, and stories from the archives.
Everything you need will be provided, but feel free to bring something to share — your favourite record, a beloved board game, or that 1,000-piece puzzle you’ve never quite finished.
It’s free to attend, but please register via the link on the event page so we know how much material to bring along.
This will be a regular social — it’s been in the pipeline for a while, and we’re excited to finally get it off the ground!
And yes, the irony that you’re probably reading this on your phone (which we’re actually relying on) hasn’t escaped us.
