🚀 From Survival Job to Career in Australia

A practical career workshop for university students, graduates and early-career professionals

Got a CV but not getting interviews?

Have a LinkedIn profile but aren’t sure whether it’s actually helping you?

Have experience from Indonesia, university, volunteering or part-time work — but struggle to explain why it matters to Australian employers?

Or maybe you’re approaching graduation and simply don’t know what your next career move should be.

This workshop is designed to help you turn that uncertainty into a practical plan.

🇦🇺🇮🇩 AIYA Victoria × Mia Rosmiati

💼 Don't just listen. Work on your actual career.

This isn't designed to be four hours of sitting through presentations.

Bring your CV. Open your LinkedIn. Bring your questions.

Over four practical and interactive hours, you'll work on the materials, communication skills and strategies you can actually use when applying for opportunities in Australia.

You'll learn how to:

📄 Improve your CV
Identify what may be holding your CV back and learn how to communicate your skills, achievements and experience more effectively.

🔗 Strengthen your LinkedIn profile
Work on your headline, About section, experience and overall professional positioning so employers and professional connections can quickly understand what you bring.

🗣️ Build your professional introduction
Practise answering one of the most common career questions: "Tell me about yourself."

💼 Turn your experience into transferable skills
Learn how to communicate experience from Indonesia, Australia, university, volunteering, internships, casual jobs and community activities in ways relevant to employers.

🤝 Network with more confidence
Learn what to say when meeting professionals, reaching out on LinkedIn or following up after an event — without making networking feel awkward or transactional.

🎯 Create your next 90-day career plan
Turn what you learn into practical next steps rather than leaving with another list of things you "should probably do someday."

🎓 Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is particularly designed for:

• University students preparing for internships or graduate roles
• International students building careers in Australia
• Recent graduates struggling to get interviews
• Indonesian migrants navigating the Australian job market
• Early-career professionals looking for their next opportunity
• People working in a "survival job" while trying to enter their preferred profession
• Anyone who isn't sure how to position their experience to Australian employers

You don't need to have everything figured out before coming.

That's the point of the workshop.

👩‍💼 Meet your facilitator: Mia Rosmiati

Mia understands that building a career in Australia isn't always a straight line.

When she first arrived in Australia, she worked as a cleaner and au pair while beginning to build her life and career here.

A year later, she received the LPDP Scholarship and Monash International Merit Scholarship, before graduating from Monash University.

Today, Mia works as a Training Consultant at CPA Australia and is the founder of English with Mia.

Her journey gives her firsthand experience of navigating the gap between arriving in Australia and building a professional career here.

This workshop brings those lessons together into a practical session for students and young professionals facing that journey themselves.

🎯 What will you walk away with?

By the end of the workshop, you should have:

✅ A clearer professional story
✅ Practical ideas for improving your CV
✅ A stronger approach to your LinkedIn profile
✅ A professional introduction you can actually use
✅ A better way to communicate your transferable skills
✅ Practical networking strategies for Australia
✅ A clearer understanding of your next career steps
✅ A personalised 90-day action plan

The goal isn't simply to leave feeling motivated.

The goal is to leave knowing what you're going to do next.
