Event description
AKITU – Winter Renewal
Step into a world where rhythm meets renewal, as the spirit of AKITU returns—this time, in the heart of winter. More than a celebration, AKITU is a ritual of rebirth. As the earth turns inward and the cold sets in, we gather to stoke the inner fire—through dance, sound, and sacred connection.

This midwinter edition of AKITU will transform the iconic Billinudgel Hotel into an epic dance sanctuary—an electric fusion of sound, ceremony, and community.
TIJUANA CARTEL weave flamenco guitar, tribal percussion, and driving electronica into a soundscape that is both cinematic and explosive. Known for their genre-bending sets and magnetic stage presence, they’ll guide us on a journey deep into the soul of rhythm.
SMILK, the master of glitchy, organic grooves, brings his signature blend of psychedelic bass and earthy textures. Expect intricate layers, dancefloor alchemy, and moments of deep collective resonance.
MOONTIDE is a multifaceted artist based in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. His work melds
delicate composition and driving rhythms, drawing from both classical arrangement and
contemporary groove.
Since 2018, he has performed across four continents, from intimate venues to major festivals
like Fusion (DE), Boom (PT), Eclipse (US), and Strawberry Fields (AU), as well as many
others. His discography spans international labels, including Serafin Audio Imprint, Kosa,
Down, Beat&Path, Tepeme, and Shango Records. This global reach mirrors the cross-
cultural nature of his sound.
Louis currently holds residencies in Byron Bay nightclub Paridiso Music Room, Mahico, Killing Time (Melboure) and more.
With ceremonial dance rites by Serpent Sisters, immersive decor, and a lineup still unfolding, AKITU invites you to shed the old skin and awaken to the stillness and power of winter’s embrace.
From darkness, we dance. From silence, we rise. Welcome to AKITU.
