Registered participants examine four kōwae/modules of work related to the Māori concept of 'Ako' (Learning-Teaching).

The four modules relate to:

Ako – a contemporary learning-teaching methodology and educational practice referring to reciprocal relationships
Āta Framework – refers to ‘āta’, a Māori value reconceptualised to develope respectful relationships between people
Te Whare Tapa Whā - a contemporary cultural concept meaning the four dimensions of a person's well-being
Tuakana-Teina - a Māori philosophy reconceptualised and referring to a relationship between an older and younger sibling
