Event description

"Touring his brand new Album 'Summer's Coming', Al Matcott (Naarm/Melbourne) is joined by locals Lady Lyon and Sunder. Come check out some of the rising stars of rock'n'roll."

Al Matcott:
Formerly a drummer, guitarist and singer in a number of bands including EuphoriacsHoney Badgers and Buried FeatherAl Matcott made his solo debut in 2021 with the release of the four-track EP You Can Be Anyone and quickly followed with a string of singles in 2022 including ‘Crystal Ball’ and ‘Sophia’. His releases have seen swift support from CLASHThe Indie SceneRadio X (UK)Triple R, PBS, Double J, Pilerats and many others, all praising his strong storytelling and delicate balance of the dark and the light across expertly written songs. His freshly released album 'Summer's Coming' (produced by Wade Kierghan) showcases a blistering rhythms section and caterwauling guitars. It's a journey of an album, one that takes Matcott's songwriting to scorching new heights.

Lady Lyon:
Cowgirl blues at its finest, Lady Lyon writes their songs like they make love. Pure, threatening, and sumptuous nostalgia for the heart that will linger in you long after your feet stop the inevitable two-step. After a massive two years touring, supporting some of their favorite bands and impressing audiences with their powerful rock ‘n’ roll show, Lady Lyon are taking their brand new EP 'Friends In Hell' on tour.

Sunder:
Hailing from Sydney’s south west, Sunder began its humble journey as nothing more than a group of friends bonding over a shared love of music and art. Having been described as ‘warm, heartfelt’ and ‘shoegazey’ by Triple J’s Claire Mooney, the band is focused on pushing the boundaries of their ‘blend of indie rock and soul’ whilst highlighting the influences that shape its foundation. The group has solidified a following not just within their hometown but also the South East coast of Wollongong and within Sydney city’s Inner West. Achieved through a dedication and focus on live performance, Sunder have supported much loved Australian acts such as the likes of Beddy Rays, The Terry’s, Satin Cali and The Belair Lip Bombs as well as having received airplay from Triple J’s Home and Hosed segment, FBi Radio’s segment’s The Bridge and Mornings with Kana Frazer, SYN Radio's Sweet 16 rotation and The Hoist and have been added to 2SER Radio's rotation twice. Sunder are showing no signs of slowing the spread of their music down.
