Hospice Guided Tours – Palliative Care Week 2026

As part of Palliative Care Week 2026, Albany Community Hospice is opening its doors to the community with a small number of guided tours of our Hospice facility.

These tours offer a respectful and informative opportunity to learn more about Hospice care, see our home‑like environment, and gain a deeper understanding of the compassionate support we provide to patients and families in our community. Tours will be conducted in small groups of up to 10 people per session to ensure a comfortable and meaningful experience.

Tickets are free, but bookings are essential.

What to Expect from the Tour

Three tours are scheduled to be run on the day - 9:30am, 12:15pm, and 5:30pm.

Participants can expect:

  • A guided walk through the Hospice facility

  • An overview of our services and care approach

  • Opportunities to ask questions in a relaxed, respectful setting

These tours are a chance to learn more about Hospice care, demystify what happens within our walls, and better understand the vital role Hospice plays in the community.

If you would like to schedule a tour outside of these times, please email ceo@albanyhospice.org.au

About Albany Community Hospice

Albany Community Hospice is an eight‑bed private hospital, located beside the Albany Health Campus. We provide specialist palliative care in a calm, supportive, and welcoming environment, at any stage of a person’s palliative care journey.

Care at Albany Community Hospice is free. Our focus is on holistic, person‑centred care - supporting not only physical comfort, but emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. Hospice is a place of peace, acceptance, and safety, where individuals and families are supported with dignity and compassion through end‑of‑life choices.

Albany Community Hospice is the only community-run hospice in Western Australia and is committed to providing free palliative care as it has done since its inception in 1990. There is always an annual shortfall in funds to operate Hospice. The shortfall last financial year was over $800,000. Albany Community Hospice therefore relies on community fundraising and donations to meet the annual shortfall.

Through amazing fundraising efforts from all areas of our community, including donations, Hospice is able to continue to offer free palliative care. Albany Community Hospice is very grateful for the community support that comes together to ensure our hospice can continue operating as a safe, welcoming place of care for our community.
