Workshop Overview
This interactive 4-hour workshop has been designed to enhance your capacity to assess and treat complex wounds in the Primary Care setting. The workshop uses a sustainability framework devised to enhance clinical outcomes, whilst minimising the economic, social, and environmental impacts of care. As a participant, you will leave the workshop with an innovation strategy for your workplace designed to translate learning into sustainable evidence-based-wound care.
This workshop is endorsed by the Australian College of Nursing and attracts 4-CPD points.
Session 1: Wound Clinical Operations and Sustainability 0900 – 10.45
- Establishing your wound management framework:
- Governance, diagnostics, referrals, inventory management
- models of care, clinical protocols

- Workplace sustainability and clinical operations assessment
Session 2: Wound Assessment and Treatment 1100 – 1300
- Wound hygiene
- Wound bed preparation and product selection
- Wound cleansing and debridement
- Inflammation, infection, and biofilm management
- Exudate management and surrounding skin
- Primary Health case study application
