Albert Herring....presented by Pacific Opera
Event description
Pacific Opera presents Britten’s Albert Herring for one performance only at the Independent Theatre in North Sydney. This delightful coming of age story, told in abridged, Pocket Opera form, follows the journey of Albert, from dutiful grocer's son, to reluctant "May King” and his outrageous, life-affirming exploits.
Come and meet the colourful characters of the fictional town of Loxford in East Suffolk. This comic opera celebrates some of Britten’s wittiest musical inventions as well as his gift for parody and caricature. This ingenious and entertaining score will be directed by Peter Coleman-Wright AO and will feature singers from the Pacific Opera Young Artist Program. It is musically directed by Bradley Gilchrist.
