Join NGV curator Dr Petra Kayser for an exclusive behind-the-scenes exploration of highlights from the National Gallery of Victoria’s renowned collection of Albrecht Dürer prints.

Often described as a “one-man Renaissance,” Albrecht Dürer was a painter, printmaker, publisher and theoretician whose work transformed artistic practice in Germany more than 500 years ago. His woodcuts and engravings were distributed throughout Europe, earning him international acclaim by his early thirties for his extraordinary imagination, innovation and technical mastery.

The NGV’s Dürer collection comprises around 400 prints and books and is internationally recognised for its exceptional quality and comprehensiveness. For this special occasion, a selection of these rare works will be displayed in the Study Room, offering visitors a unique opportunity to view Dürer’s masterpieces up close.
