Alex Richo: Life Times EP Launch

Alex is joined by an all-star band including Jonathan Zwartz (ARIA award winning artist) on bass, Ollie McGill from The Cat Empire on piano, Pete Skelton on drums, Dave Rodriguez from Godtet and featured guests include Moussa Diakite on guitar and Jessica Madhu.

Alex Richo is a producer, sound engineer and multi-instrumentalist whose music is shaped by a life lived across continents and cultures. With a deep curiosity and an ear tuned to the stories of the world, Alex captures his experiences the way he knows best, through sound.

Life Times, his long-awaited debut, is a genre-blurring journey that moves fluidly from Brazilian grooves to West African instrumentation, bluesy moods to RnB ballads, jazz traditions to hip hop grit. The EP features over 20 remarkable musicians including Moussa Diakite, Jonathan Zwartz, Julian Belbachir and Jessica Madhu with more special guests to be revealed for the live show.

The title hints at the many chapters lived, and the idea of music as a journal - moments captured, stories told, and transformations recorded in rhythm and melody. Almost entirely written, recorded, mixed and produced by Alex himself, Life Times is as much a work of craftsmanship as it is of artistry.

The lead single, Será Que Eu Vou, featuring Jessica Madhu and Moussa Diakite, explores the ache of distance - being far from home and caught in the quiet question of whether to stay or return.

Join us on Thursday, July 25th at Church St Studios in Camperdown for an intimate launch at 7:30pm. It’s set to be a night of deep grooves, global stories, and musical celebration.
