Event description

Together we sing. Together we rise.

You are cordially invited to the debut of Alexa and The Folk - a participatory "emergent folk" music experience where you become part of the band!

Led by singer/songwriter, songleader, and Cascadia Folk Choir director Alexa Lux alongside multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire & music director Alex Milsted, Alexa and The Folk and their rotating cast of musician friends invite you to sing, move, and reconnect with music as your birthright.

These original tunes are made to be learned in the moment. No prep needed — just your voice, your breath, and your willingness to be part of the music. As you sing, you shape the sound, and you become The Folk.

Set in the heart of NE Portland at the beloved nonprofit urban garden Rhythm Seed Farm, this family-friendly new moon gathering will nourish your soul and ground you in collective joy. Think of it as a concert, a ritual, and a community song circle — all in one.

🌀 Sharing a vision with Cascadia Folk Choir and the broader community song movement, Alexa and The Folk is bringing music back to the people — as a practice of remembrance, belonging, and shared transformation.

Featuring Reb Conner on guitar & vocals, Jacob Last on percussion, and Michael Dougherty on bass.
