Last year, Alice & Purdie brought their songs and sounds to 5 Church St and they're coming back for more... Featuring new songs, loved songs, harmonies, stories, a dash of frivolity and voices that move the soul.

Doors 6pm, come and have a nourishing meal and drink. Music will commence at 7pm and finish at approximately 9:30pm.

There will be a short set from Alice, then a short set from Purdie, followed by a longer set from Alice.

This evening will feature lap-slide guitar from local artist and legend Jason Lowe.

Alice Night is a candid singer-songwriter and performer likely to make you laugh, cry or both. She delivers soul-stirring songs alongside entertaining off-the-cuff banter. Alice has won the hearts of many over the last ten years of recording, releasing and touring original folk music. This show marks the release of the next single 'Much About Anything' from her new album 'Wild Ivy.' Alice offers her audiences an oasis for feelings and contemplation, while singing songs that dip seamlessly between the mundane and the profound. Her vocal tone is both soothing and evocative as it draws out the truth in the room.

Purdie Wood will be offering a unique form of traditional wordless prayer and selected re-imagined popular and traditional songs accompanied by the Irish hand drum. She sings on the subjects of death, despair and longing and yet leaves audiences more awake to beauty. Purdie's voice has been shaped by the bellows of her ancestors and their ties to the ancient traditions of keening and lilting stemming from the British Isles. Her vocal liquidity resonates through the heart as it reaches back into the depths of time, and reacquaints us with a much needed connection to the earth and the unseen realms.
