Event description

Come along to find out all about Polphagous Shot-Hole Borer and how to detect and report it!

Polyphagous shot-hole borer (PSHB) Euwallacea fornicatus is a beetle native to Southeast Asia. The beetle attacks a wide range of plants by tunnelling into trunks, stems and branches. PSHB has been detected in the Perth metropolitan area, with a quarantine area in place covering 21 local government areas.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development will be giving a presentation on what to look out for in your garden and in the park, and how to report it if you do find signs of PSHB. Early detection and the prompt removal or pruning of infested trees is key to containing PSHB spread and minimising further impact on neighbouring trees.

Join us for the presentation, along with wine and cheese on a summer's evening!
