All In: National Reconciliation Week at Herston
Description
All In: National Reconciliation Week at Herston
Join us at UQ Herston Campus to mark the beginning of National Reconciliation Week 2026 with a meaningful, inclusive gathering centred on connection, learning and reflection.
Held on Wednesday 27 May, this event commemorates the significance of the 1967 Referendum and Mabo Day, while embracing the 2026 theme “All In” — a call for everyone to actively participate in reconciliation, justice and truth‑telling.
Set within The Reconciliation Garden, Herston Campus, this event offers the opportunity to pause, connect with your peers, and reflect on our shared responsibility to strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
On the day, come along to enjoy:
Native sweets and saussage rolls from FigJam & Co, a proud second‑generation Indigenous‑owned Brisbane business showcasing Australian native ingredients
Hands‑on bracelet weaving, learning a traditional technique passed down through generations — sit, yarn and create your own Ngumpie bracelet
A prize draw for attendees, simply for being part of the day
Come All In — to learn, connect and reflect together. We look forward to seeing you there!* 🪃✨
*Registration prior to the event not required; feel free to come along at a time that suits you.
