Event description

All is Calm, All is Clay

Saturday 15 November, 2:45 - 6:00 p.m.
Black Fig Gallery | $120 | Limited to 15 places

Hosted by Black Fig Gallery + PhD Ruth Park

A different kind of Christmas tradition - timeless, elegant, and made by hand.

Guided by PhD ceramicist Ruth Park, you’ll shape your own ornaments, candle holders, or tableware to be fired and collected before Christmas, bringing art and sentiment to the tree or the table.

As we make, we’ll share stories - funny, sentimental, or quiet reflections on what this season means. For some, it’s a chance to pass down traditions; for others, an opportunity to create new ones. Each piece becomes more than clay: as it hardens in the kiln, it carries both form and memory.

No experience is needed, just a willingness to slow down and shape something meaningful. A Christmas of presence, thought, and keepsakes.

Every ticket contributes to The Fig Fund, supporting access to original art in our community.
