Event description

ALLY is a fabulous concoction of ideas that take musical shape by artists who work seamlessly together to explore new grooves and journey with the audience to new lands. ALLY is a music community that combines the skills of Peruvian, Brazilian and jazz artists living in Sydney, Australia. They collaborate, create and inspire each other to produce spectacular, trailblazing original music that straddles both Latin and jazz soundscapes. Not entirely Latin, nor ambient, nor jazz, ALLY music is unique. The group will be in Germany in October 2025 performing with musicians from Myanmar for Enjoy Jazz. They are hoping to add more performances and meet new friends.

Press: “ALLY never quite lets your expectations settle.” - John Shane, SMH

“ALLY live is a fascinating amalgam of styles and cultures”. - Jessica Nicholas, The Age

“ALLY featured the inexhaustibly inventive Gai Bryant at Melbourne’s Paris Cat backed by Latin rhythm and other accompaniment of astonishing virtuosity, textual density and distinctiveness.” - Professor John Whiteoak, Routledge Companion UK
