Join SteM Sisters for an empowering and thought-provoking event, “Allyship in Action: Panel Discussion & Networking Event.” This engaging gathering fosters dialogue, inspires action, and cultivates a community of allies within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

At SteM Sisters, we recognize allyship’s critical role in creating inclusive and equitable environments. With this event, we aim to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds passionate about championing underrepresented groups in STEM.
Special Speech by Dr Ruwangi Fernando, Founder & Director of STEM Sisters
Dr Ruwangi Fernando, Founder & Director of STEM Sisters, deliver a speech at the event. She is a renowned advocate for women of colour in STEM, and her speech will inspire attendees with her personal journey, insights on leadership, and the importance of fostering inclusive communities in STEM.
Panel Discussion
The event’s centrepiece is a fascinating panel discussion featuring prominent voices in the field of STEM, including industry leaders, researchers, educators, and advocates. Through their personal experiences and professional insights, our esteemed panellists will explore the many facets of allyship, discussing strategies for fostering inclusivity, dismantling systemic barriers, and amplifying underrepresented voices within STEM.

The following speakers will be sharing their invaluable insights and experiences:
Warren Hill – With an impressive background in technology and entrepreneurship, Warren Hill has been a driving force in promoting diversity and inclusion in the STEM industry. As a mentor and advocate, Warren has empowered aspiring professionals and worked to create inclusive spaces where all individuals can thrive.
Leigh Gibson – Leigh Gibson is a prominent figure in the field of technology and has been instrumental in creating inclusive environments within STEM. As an advocate for gender equality and diversity, Leigh has led initiatives that empower women and underrepresented groups to thrive in STEM careers.
Zach Ghirardello – Zach Ghirardello is an accomplished researcher and advocate for diversity and inclusivity in the sciences. Through his work, Zach has been actively involved in breaking down barriers and promoting underrepresented voices in STEM. With a passion for equity and social justice, Zach’s contributions have made a significant impact.
Soozey Johnstone – Soozey Johnstone is a recognized leader in the field of engineering and has dedicated her career to fostering diversity and inclusion in STEM. As the founder of #TechDiversity, she has strongly advocated for fostering inclusive workplaces and creating opportunities for underrepresented individuals.

Networking

The ACS Victoria office is located at Level 14, 839 Collins St Docklands. When you arrive, please go to the building reception near where you walk in, and they will advise you where to go.
