Join us at Alstonville Public School for a wonderful evening featuring a great film, live music and delicious food on 23rd of May. My Brother’s Band (The Marching Band, En fanfare) is one of France’s biggest box office hits and winner of multiple awards.

Acclaimed conductor Thibaut has leukaemia and needs a bone marrow donor. Learning he was adopted, he finds a brother, Jimmy who works as a cook in a school canteen and plays trombone in the local marching band. When Thibaut becomes involved with the band, the brothers learn more about each other and the circumstances that shaped their lives.  A story with heart, the film is a musical treat with classical, jazz and contemporary French songs.

6pm: Gates open

Before the film, enjoy live music by local saxophone band The Sax Maniacs. The six talented musicians from the Ballina Concert Band will deliver a dynamic mix of jazz and contemporary tunes.  

A selection of delicious sweet and savoury food and hot and cold drinks will be available to purchase, courtesy of the Alstonville School parent group.

7pm - 9.15pm: Film (includes intermission)

Entry: As a Film Society, we can only provide screenings to our members. When you purchase a ticket, you gain membership to the Duck Creek Film Society and entry to this film. Cost is $12.50 online pre-paid (incl. fees) or $14 at the door (EFTPOS or cash) until sold out.

Venue: Alstonville Public (Primary) School hall, 58 Main St, Alstonville.
