Alternative Photography - Experimental Cyanotypes with Simone Darcy
Event description
Cyanotype is a contact print made by placing an object onto pre-prepared light-sensitive paper to create Prussian Blue and white images.
This workshop will introduce you to the art of creating abstract cyanotypes, using negative images, found objects and sunlight.
Simone will show you a range of design elements and techniques to create contemporary abstract prints. Learn how to coat paper, expose prints outside and develop prints. Participants will make 4 - 6 experimental prints on 300gsm printmaking paper to take home
Participants are welcome to bring objects and images to this workshop. Simone will have a range of materials and images to use on the day. Participants will be sent instructions on how to prepare a digitally-printed negative for use the week before the workshop.
All chemicals, paper and equipment are included.
Refreshments will be offered on the day, participants can bring along their lunch to enjoy within the Rosny grounds when we have a break.
