Dr Louis Papilion provides anaesthetic services across all metropolitan private hospitals and has a particular clinical interest in anaesthesia for upper gastrointestinal procedures, including bariatric surgery. He worked as a Staff Specialist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital until 2023, when he transitioned to full-time private practice with Stace Anaesthetists.

He is the current AMA SA Vice President but joined the AMA SA Council in 2022 to contribute to advocacy efforts aimed at improving working conditions and wellbeing for doctors, as well as to support reforms that enhance the delivery of care within both the public and private healthcare sectors.

Dr George Balalis has advanced skills in laparoscopic primary and revision weight loss surgeries, as well as complex hiatus hernia repairs and reflux surgery.

George has been the recipient of three prestigious scholarship grants from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He pursued further formal surgical training in Brisbane, Melbourne, The United Kingdom and the Netherlands. George publishes peer-reviewed journals and lectures at the University of Adelaide. He actively participates in industry bodies, ensuring his skills and private practice (Morphē) evolve to reflect the latest international standards and industry insights.

Associate Professor Melanie Turner is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and the Deputy Chief Psychiatrist in South Australia. Mel has worked in both public and private practice. Her research interests led her to completing a PhD at the University of Adelaide in perinatal psychiatry which increased her interest in teaching and service improvement.

 

In 2015, Mel began her Practitioner Member role on the South Australian Board of the Medical Board of Australia and currently works on their notification and registration committees. Mel is the Deputy Chief Psychiatrist for Inspections and Investigations for the SA Office of the Chief Psychiatrist. In 2022, Mel was appointed the inaugural presiding member of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Review Board of South Australia.

Fernanda Schettini is a Senior Accountant in the Health team at Hood Sweeney, where she provides accounting and business advisory services to a wide range of healthcare clients. She supports medical professionals with practical financial solutions, including tax compliance, business structuring, and strategic planning tailored to the unique needs of the health sector.
