AMA Tasmania Annual Parliamentary Dinner 2026

The Annual AMA Tasmania Parliamentary Dinner matters because our members’ voices matter. Doctors are at the coalface of Tasmania’s health system every day in hospitals, general practice, rural communities, emergency departments and specialist care and you see firsthand where the pressure is building.

Yet many doctors feel they are increasingly left out of the conversations that shape health policy. That is not how a strong, responsive health system is built. Tasmania needs medical voices in the room and AMA Tasmania members have an important role to play in making sure decision-makers hear what is really happening on the ground.

This dinner is one of the few opportunities each year for members to sit down, face to face, with Tasmanian parliamentarians from all parties and both Houses not for formal speeches, but for honest, practical conversations about the pressures doctors are seeing, the solutions patients need, and the changes required to strengthen healthcare in Tasmania.

It will also be Dr Meg Creely’s first official Parliamentary Dinner as AMA Tasmania President making it an important night for members to attend, connect and be part of the conversation.

This year’s event will begin with canapés, allowing more time for networking and conversation before guests sit down for the main course, petit fours and drinks.
