Please join us at the Mazza Castle for an evening of music with harpist Amelia Romano and woodwind player Asaf Ophir.

===

Amelia Romano (harp) is a lever harpist and composer who reimagines classical repertoire alongside original works, presenting the instrument as a vital contemporary classical voice. She earned her master’s degree in classical lever harp performance from San Francisco State University, studying with Karen Gottlieb of the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players and the San Francisco Symphony. Her album Levers Engaged, and the accompanying Classical Re-imaginations collection, highlight her work as a composer, arranger, and trailblazer equally at home in solo, chamber, and Latin American–inspired music.

Asaf Ophir (woodwinds) is an Israeli-born woodwind specialist whose career began in musical theater while studying at the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music and the Jerusalem Academy. Since moving to the United States in 2014, he has performed extensively in the Bay Area in musicals and world music projects rooted in Jewish, Arabic, and Balkan traditions. His work has taken him to major stages in Israel and the U.S., and he has shared the stage with a wide range of internationally recognized artists
