Learn critical lifesaving skills in our hybrid class! From reversing opioid overdoses and administering adult and pediatric CPR, these skills are critical tools for community care - and now it's even easier for people to participate with a busy schedule.
What you'll learn:
Red Cross CPR & AED (Adult/Pediatric)
- Recognize the signs of cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants.
- Practice delivering effective chest compressions and rescue breathing.
- Learn to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to restore a heartbeat.
- Develop the skills to assist in choking emergencies.
Naloxone Administration (Opioid Overdose Response)
- Recognize an opioid overdose and learn how to intervene.
- Administer naloxone (Narcan) using nasal spray or injection.
- Understand the importance of harm reduction and community care in overdose response.
- Learn about Good Samaritan laws that protect those who help.
- Each participant will leave with 2, 3mg or 4mg noloxone doses.
How we'll do it:
- Duration: 3 hours self paced online content, 3 hours in person skill session.
- Hands-on practice with CPR mannequins, AED and Naloxone trainers.
- Real-world scenarios designed to foster quick decision-making and collaboration, including drags and carries.
- Certification: Participants will receive Red Cross certifications in Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED and Naloxone Administration. These certificates are valid for two years.
What to Bring:
- Comfortable clothes for hands-on activities.
- Open mind, willingness to practice, and readiness to act.
Important information:
Once you sign up for the class, an email will be sent to you with access
to an online learning portal. Please allow yourself enough time to
complete the coursework. Once completed, you will be able to attend the in-person skill session - which takes place on the posted date.
