Join us Amongst the Trees for two days of cutting‑edge learning with world‑renowned arboriculture academic Professor Francesco Ferrini. This immersive workshop will explore tree selection, soil and root systems, urban arboriculture and forestry, biodiversity, ecosystem services, and the role of trees in creating resilient and sustainable cities — drawing on the latest international research and real‑world applications.
Professor Ferrini is a full Professor of Arboriculture at the University of Florence (Italy), with more than 470 published works and presentations at over 300 international conferences worldwide.
This is Professor Ferrini’s first time presenting in Perth, offering a rare opportunity for arborists, urban foresters, planners and environmental professionals to learn directly from one of the leading voices in contemporary arboriculture.

Professor Francesco Ferrini
Professor Francesco Ferrini is a full Professor of Arboriculture at the University of Florence (Italy). He has authored more than 470 published works and has presented at over 300 international conferences worldwide. Francesco is a member of the Italian Horticultural Society, a past President of the Italian Society of Arboriculture, and a current member of the Nomination and Election Committee of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Professor Ferrini is the recipient of numerous awards, including the ISA’s Order of Merit, the highest honour bestowed by the International Society of Arboriculture. He is a former Editor of Arboriculture & Urban Forestry and is currently Editor‑in‑Chief of the Environment and Sustainability section of the Urban Science journal. Professor Ferrini’s current research and experimental work in ornamental and urban arboriculture includes: The effects of water stress on the growth performance of newly planted trees and the selection of drought‑tolerant species Physiological and growth responses of different species to cultivation techniques following planting in urban environments Biodiversity within urban ecosystems

- Will the presentations be recorded?
The presentations will not be recorded, however photos and videos may be taken on the day for promotional purposes.
Professor Ferrini's slides from his presentations will be made available for attendees who would like a copy.
