The Australian Merino Production Trial shearing program is a critical data-collection milestone, delivering high-quality, independently measured performance information that underpins genetic evaluation, industry benchmarking and long-term productivity outcomes for the Australian Merino industry.

AMPT - Shearing Day 1 - Tuesday 10th March 2026
The AMPT Shearing evaluation will be held at Kooringal Horse Stud, ‘Glenmoira’ Shearing Shed, Harefield, NSW. Commencing at 7:30am each day, the shearing line up will be emailed to entrants prior to the event. Lunch, tea and coffee will be provided.

Industry Dinner - Tuesday 10th March 2026
We are delighted to invite entrants, partners and guest speakers to the 'Industry Dinner'. The night provides an opportunity to connect and reflect on the collaboration, innovation and commitment that underpins the Trial. We are especially pleased to be joined by respected guest speakers who will share insights and perspectives drawn from across the industry, helping to place the Trial’s work within the broader context of the Australian Merino sector. Venue: Champagne Bar, Murrumbidgee Turf Club 6:30pm Pre-dinner drinks Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully curated two-course meal, beginning with entrée served at 7:15pm. Social Dinner - Wednesday 11th March 2026
Join us for a relaxed social dinner bringing together entrants, partners and guests of the Australian Merino Production Trial. This informal evening provides an opportunity to share conversation and enjoy good food in a welcoming setting alongside colleagues from across the industry. Please note, guests purchase their own meals and beverages on the evening.

Industry Dinner Guest Speaker - Peta Bradley - Sheep Genetics
Peta is the Manager of Sheep Genetics with Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) and has held various roles within the MLA Livestock Genetics team over the last 8 and a half years. This includes roles within Sheep Genetics and across the Beef and Sheep Genetics R&D portfolio. She completed a Bachelor of Rural Science at the University of New England in 2017. Peta is based on a property near Armatree in Central West New South Wales where her family run a commercial and seedstock sheep operation alongside a cropping enterprise. Her passion includes enabling producers to access Australia's world leading genetic evaluation service and using it to drive meaningful results on-farm. Outside of work Peta enjoys a range of endurance and extreme sports that have taken her around the world.
