AMSA WA AGM and Student Prize Night 2024
Event description
AMSA WA will be hosting our AGM combined with the annual Student Prize Night!
Following the annual AGM (5:30 - 6:30pm), student finalists will present their Honours or Masters research (6:30 - 7:30 pm), with First Prize being awarded by a panel of judges, and a People's Choice Award by audience vote. Free drinks and nibbles will be provided after the presentations. This is a great place to network and learn about current research by early career WA marine scientists.
CASH FIRST PRIZE and ALL finalists will receive free AMSA membership for a year!
Please come along, listen to some new and exciting research, participate in the annual AGM and support WA's marine science students.
Registration is FREE!.
Two ticket types are available: the combined AGM and Student Presentations, OR to the Student Presentations ONLY.
**COMPLETED HONOURS AND MASTERS STUDENTS WISHING TO SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT**
Submit a 300 word abstract (no pictures) of your completed Honours or Masters research to wa@amsa.asn.au by 11th April 2024 to enter! Presentations are limited to ten minutes, and you must have submitted your research within the last year.
The AMSA WA committee, which consists of both industry and academic marine scientists, will chose students to present between 6:30 - 7:30 pm on May 9th 2024 - you must be available at this date and time to be eligible. If successful, you will be notified by April 25th.
