An Afternoon of Song brings together two of the most exciting performers on the UK classical music scene for one exclusive, intimate concert at the beautiful Burgh House in Hampstead. Acclaimed tenor Mark Milhoffer and pianist Nigel Foster, fresh from performing their celebrated Caruso Song Cycle to standing ovations at Carnegie Hall in New York, bring this extraordinary programme to North London for a single, unmissable afternoon performance.
Ranging from opera to popular song, the Caruso Song Cycle is a joyful and deeply moving celebration of one of the greatest voices in the history of music. In the intimate setting of Burgh House, with its legendary garden and historic rooms, this is a rare chance to experience world-class live music up close — the kind of afternoon that stays with you long after the last note fades.
And it is more than a concert. Every ticket purchased supports Pancho Stories, a children's book charity on a mission to ensure that no child grows up without a story that reflects their own family and their own journey. Pancho Stories creates inclusive, beautifully illustrated books for children navigating adoption, and makes them freely available — through social worker networks across the UK and in video form online — so that income is never a barrier to access.
The afternoon raises funds for two things: the creation of Flo and Mingo, Pancho Stories' forthcoming book about two flamingos who discover an egg and what family truly means, and the distribution of their existing books to as many children across the UK as possible. Because every child deserves to see themselves on the page.
Handmade chocolates and treats will be served throughout the afternoon.

After a quarter century of singing in professional opera productions around the world, Mark Milhofer is at the peak of his vocal powers. Able to switch comfortably from Monteverdi to Mozart, from Rossini to Lehar and Britten to Eotvos, Mark has the years of experience that keep him in constant demand by international theatres. From being a Choral Scholar at Magdalen College, Oxford, to Post Diploma Training at the Guildhall School of Music in London and then winning one of the few places on the Italian Opera Studio in Milan, Mark has the solid technique that allows him to be so versatile
