An Afternoon with Peta Mathias
Description
Good stories. Great food. A life well travelled.
Join celebrated chef, author, broadcaster and traveller Peta Mathias at Te Puna Mahara – Cromwell Memorial Events Centre for an entertaining afternoon of travel tales, food, laughter and life.
With a life shared between France and New Zealand, Peta has plenty of stories to bring to the table. Her latest book, Recipes from the Supper Club, is her 21st—a delicious mix of French-inspired cooking, personal anecdotes and humorous insights into bringing people together over food.
Inspired by the south of France and created with busy Kiwi cooks in mind, the book celebrates generous flavours, achievable entertaining and the pleasure of sharing a meal. Alongside stories from her travels, Peta will share inspiration for making your own gatherings a little more memorable.
Expect plenty of personality and an afternoon that might leave you inspired to invite friends for supper, try something new in the kitchen—or book that trip to France.
And because no good afternoon should begin in a hurry, the bar opens at 2pm. Purchase a drink, take in the views across the Kawarau River and enjoy some good company before Peta takes the stage at 4pm.
Whether you’re a keen cook, a passionate traveller or simply someone who enjoys a great story, this is one to share with a friend.
